The Marlo CFA was first established between 1946-1947, and was known as the Marlo Rural Fire Brigade.

The first brick building of the brigade was erected in 1972.

The now modern facilities in Marlo also house the local Coast Guard, which is a national marine organisation run entirely by volunteers.
